Tomb Raider star Angelina Jolie is the sexiest woman alive - and that's official.

Esquire magazine made the call, following a poll of its editors and readers.

There was a wide range of candidates...and therefore the winner got only a few percentage points.

Or perhaps readers just found it hard to choose between some top totty.

The Sky Captain heroine, whose voice also features in the new animated movie Shark Tale, picked up 7% of votes. Close behind was Catwoman star Halle Berry, with 6%.

Ange told the magazine her kooky action-packed image was true to life.

She said: "The tattoos, the blood, cutting myself - it's all very much who I am.

"If you knew me privately, you might think I was even wilder than my reputation," she added.

Angelina, who has a three-year-old adopted son, is single after divorcing twice, from actors Jonny Lee Miller and Billy Bob Thornton.

Angelina Jolie says she'll know when she's found the right man - because she'll trust him to tie her up.

In a frank interview with America's Allure magazine, she confesses that she presently has two lovers.

But she says: "I've never been tied up. I have a feeling the person that does it will be the one. I think that's what I'd like.

"A lot of my relationships just weren't honest enough. So I took them down different paths toward violence or wildness...to try to find somebody to hold me down and make me feel.

"S&M sex can be misinterpreted as violence. It's really about trust. I like to push boundaries, both emotional and sexual, with another person. That's when I've felt the sexiest.

"I've been in both submissive and dominant roles because I want more."

The twice-married actress says she has "mainly two close lovers," but refuses to name the men. "Professional friends," she told Allure. "Emphasis on professional."

Teased about rumours she and Brad Pitt have been having an affair, Jole replies, "I wouldn't sleep with a married man. I have enough lovers. I don't need Brad."

And, when asked if she was dating Colin Farrell, she replied, "No. The reason Colin and I haven't become a couple is that we are the same person. There'd be nobody to ground us. We'd just be nuts."

And in another interview, with Esquire magazine, she admitted: "I guarantee you, my life is much more wild and free and headline-worthy today than it was when I was in all the headlines."

The 28-year-old says, "I love going to see Angelina Jolie kick butt. She's so hot. As a woman, I relate to her rather than seeing her as competition. I might be nervous, like, 'Is my boyfriend watching the movie or watching Angelina?' But she's representing me up there. It's more like, 'Wow, she's one of us.'"

Angelina Jolie has congratulated her ex-husband Billy Bob Thornton on his new star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, by taking out a full-page advertisement in a trade publication. Thornton received a star on the Tinseltown walkway Thursday, and has been honored by a range of studios and professionals with congratulatory ads in Daily Variety. But most noteworthy of all was a special message from Jolie. The sexy actress, who split from the Monster's Ball star in 2002, writes, "Billy, I love your brilliant mind... Congratulations! With love and respect always, Angie." Thornton's Bad Santa co-star Bernie Mac writes in his own full page ad, "You deserve it! There is no Badder Santa than you!"

Actor Billy Bob Thornton has become a father for the fourth time, after his girlfriend Connie Angland gave birth to a baby daughter. Baby Bella weighed six pounds one-and-a-half ounces and both Angland, 39, and her newborn girl are doing well, their publicist has confirmed. The baby is Angland's first, while five-times married Thornton, 49, already has two sons, William and Harry, with fourth wife Pietra Dawn Cherniak and a daughter, Amanda, with first wife Melissa Lee Gatlin. The couple have been together since meeting on the set of 2003 movie Bad Santa - following Thornton's split from fifth wife Angelina Jolie .
