Angelina Jolie Biography

Angelina Jolie (born June 4, 1975) is an American film actress, a former fashion model, and a Goodwill Ambassador for the UN Refugee Agency. She is often cited by popular media as one of the world's most beautiful women and her off-screen life is widely reported. She has received three Golden Globe Awards, two Screen Actors Guild Awards, and an Academy Award.

After appearing as a child alongside her father Jon Voight in the 1982 film Lookin' to Get Out, Jolie's acting career began in earnest a decade later with the low budget production Cyborg 2 (1993) and she played her first leading role in a major film in Hackers (1995). She appeared in the critically acclaimed biographical films George Wallace (1997) and Gia (1998), and won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in the drama Girl, Interrupted (1999).

Angelina Jolie Wanted To Be James Bond

In a role written for Tom Cruise, Angelina Jolie turns Salt into Hollywood's ultimate female fighting machine. Sony chairman Amy Pascal suggested over lunch four years ago that Jolie play a Bond girl, Jolie responded that she didn’t want to play a Bond girl - she wanted to play James Bond.

Jolie will appear at the convention during Sony’s 1:00pm Hall H presentation on Thursday, July 22. Along with Salt, Sony is promoting the Aaron Echkart sci-fi film Battle: Los Angeles.

Angelina Jolie has quietly returned to Haiti for meetings with Haitian and U.N. officials.

The weekend visit by the "goodwill ambassador" for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees was not announced to keep it low-profile.

U.N. officials confirmed the visit when asked by The Associated Press. They agreed to discuss the trip only if not quoted by name because they were asked not to share details of Jolie's visit.
