Farrell Behaved
"Like a Baby" with Jolie
9 August 2004
imdb
Irish hunk Colin Farrell acted "like
a baby towards his mother" when he
first met actress Angelina Jolie on
the set of Alexander, the film's
director Oliver Stone reports.
Farrell plays Alexander, the King of
Macedonia and Jolie plays his
mother, Olympias, in the war epic -
Stone was amazed by his casting,
because Farrell acted like her son
off-screen. Stone explains, "He was
all over her. He was like the Irish
boy - he wasn't Alexander and he was
just falling in love with her,
couldn't help himself. I was
thinking: "It's the right choice,
because he's behaving like a baby."
She (Jolie) was laughing at him. I
don't know if actors sometimes act
out their desires and he wanted to
be the infant to her mother. It
works." [

when he starts a new film - because
they've never failed to bring him

linked with leading ladies Angelina
Jolie and Rosario Dawson - refuses
to start work until he's donned the
shamrock-design boxer shorts and has
promised to keep up the tradition
throughout his career. He explains,
"My brother gave them to me. They're
my lucky charm. If I don't have
them, I won't come out of the

bit old now but I could never part

Angelina Jolie's
Adoption Agent Admits Fraud
25 June 2004
imdb
A woman who helped actress Angelina
Jolie adopt her Cambodian son Maddox
has pleaded guilty to visa fraud and
money laundering. Lauryn Galindo,
53, of Hawaii and her sister in
Seattle, Washington, Lynn Devin,
received fees of $10,000 or more to
arrange adoptions by US residents of
children described as orphans - even
though many still had parents,
according to the documents. Devin -
who pleaded guilty in December, but
has not yet been sentenced - and
Galindo have agreed to surrender all
property associated with the crimes,
including a home in Hawaii. The
sisters operated an agency called
Seattle International Adoptions,
which paired hundreds of children
from Cambodia with adoptive parents
from 1997 to 2001, when suspicious
US immigration authorities halted
adoptions from the impoverished
south-east Asian country. The
adoption ring - which paid poor
women as little as $100 (£ 55) for
their children, according to an
attorney - received a total of
$93,700 (£52,055) for the adoptions
cited in the case. Galindo could
face up to 20 years in prison at a
sentencing hearing set for
September. Prosecutors have said the
investigation will not change the
status of children adopted through
the Seattle adoption agency. Jolie
adopted Maddox last year after
meeting him in an orphanage in
November 2001. [

Jolie's Battle with
Film Director
20 May 2004
imdb
Angelina Jolie almost walked out of
new movie Mr And Mrs Smith after a
series of bitter bust ups with
director Doug Liman . According to
gossip columnist Roger Friedman ,
Jolie's onscreen husband Brad Pitt
has had to act as mediator between
the pair as they have "disagreed on
just about everything he has asked
her to do", according to onset
sources. Jolie has reportedly come
close to "meltdown" and the film's
budget has spiraled out of control
to over $100 million with a month of
shooting left, as Liman struggles to
keep a grip on production on the
film, which is due for release later
this year. An insider tells
Friedman, "You can tell there's
tension on set. Between the written
word and what was shot would be
three different things."
